Kids Coaching

Kampong Football Club is a learning environment designed for boys and girls ages 3-17. We look to train the kids to be stronger technically, mentally, emotionally and physically through football. Our sessions are run during the weekends in the afternoon.

Technical

Technical soccer drills and exercises are designed to promote a players technique and skills. Players will gradually learn over a period of time the co-ordination and basic motor patterns they need to solve specific soccer game related problems.  The decision making process is very complex and players are reacting not only to the other teams movements, but also to their own teammates.  Choosing the most effective solutions to these problems require a high degree of ball mastery and wide range of motor skills in higher level soccer.  These technical soccer skills are learnt through a variety of progressive technical soccer drills.  Technical drills should be first performed unopposed to allow the players comfort in making errors and learning. 

Physical

Football players need to be physically fit and possess excellent technical and coordination skills. To achieve those goals and do their coaches proud, they need to train all season long to stay fit and perform well on the pitch.
Fitness training is essential for players. It is recommended that they train at a steady pace with their team and on their own and also do fitness exercises (with and without the ball) to work on their cardio, speed and strength and to guarantee a good level of performance.

Mental

Mental toughness is an important attribute that can lead to successful performance. Mental toughness can be utilised at all levels of performance and is not solely for elite performers. In addition, mental toughness can be trained through continuous practice and should form part of all programme routines. It is imperative that strategies should be incorporated to enhance mental toughness and reflective practice should provide unique opportunities to further enhance mental toughness. The information above should allow players to maintain balance and control within the mind. These strategies will support both physiological and mental states.

Emotional

Positive mind-set allows performance levels to increase because it facilitates direction and focus. The relationship between mental preparation and sport psychology therefore becomes important and there is evidence of its use in cricket, golf and tennis. It is therefore not surprising that football has also introduced sport science to their mapped programme of which sport psychology is an integral part. Given the contention that sport psychology plays an integral role within football it would be purposeful to argue of its merit for football coaches in performance settings.
